Education Team
Our Educational Volunteers serve as essential contributors to our mission by fostering public awareness and understanding of wildlife and coexistence. Their roles are multifaceted and involve engaging with the public to impart knowledge about local wildlife, humane solutions, and the critical role our center plays in their conservation.
Things to Know Before Volunteering
-
Our patients are wild animals and we need it to stay that way! We do not pet our patients, play with them or excessively talk to them. Human interaction with patients is for medically significant purposes only.
-
Education Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age or older.
-
As an Educational Volunteer, you will have to have reliable transportation to travel to events.
-
There is no minimum time commitment to be an Educational Volunteer! Volunteer as much, or as little, as you can.
-
There is no previous education required to apply but we do ask that you commit to learning!
-
We do not accept volunteers that have prior wildlife-related legal violations or convictions. Nor do we accept volunteers with prior animal abuse convictions. NO EXCEPTIONS!
What does Volunteering Look Like?
Youth Programs:
Our educational volunteers go to schools, museums, clubs, and camps to give 1-2 hour programs about wildlife, conservation, or human-wildlife conflict.

Adult Programs:
Our educational volunteers teach programs or workshops for adults, seniors, and local law enforcement.

Outreach Events:
It is important to our mission that we are engaging with our local community. Therefore we often set up a table at outdoor community events to educate the public on wildlife and positive human-wildlife interaction.
